K. Velmurugan (b.1975) ​   ​   Born in Tamil Nadu, Velmurugan did his BFA in Sculpture from Govt. College of fine Arts, Kumbakonam and MFA in Sculpture from the Govt. College of Fine Arts, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. ​​   Velmurugan has exhibited his sculptures in leading galleries in a solo and group capacity in the country since 2005. Recognised as a promising sculptor whose works have been showcased in curated exhibitions, Velmurugan has been awarded with several awards and accolades.​​   He has received awards from Pallava Artists Village, Padappai in 2010, from Bhiku Ram Jain Art Awards in 2009, 2010, from Annual Indian Royal Academy, Gulbarga in 2008, 2010 and from Art @ Nirman, Kolkata in 2008. He has also received Junior Fellowship from Govt. Of India Ministry of Culture New Delhi in 2010 - 2011.   He has attended several camps like West Zone Sculpture Centre, Udaipur in 2009, 2010, Sand Sculpture camp in 2009, Model camp, Madupalayam in 2009, Gnani Arts, Singapore in 2008 and West Zone Sculpture Centre, Goa in 2007. ​
