Forum Art Gallery extends a loud voice in support of nature, the environment and all the inhabitants of this planet threatened and on the verge of extinction.

The world has faced a pandemic like never before and the impact one species has on the other’s welfare and existence is a matter of great concern for all.

In these exceptional times, wild life scientists feel the potential of examining a store house of data generated due to the ‘anthropause’- the dramatic slowdown in human activity caused by the pandemic. With reduced human intervention and the hiatus nature has thus earned, animal behaviour and patterns have undergone a heightened change. In particular, the pause has created unique natural experiments, allowing researchers to compare how animals behaved before, during, and after the pandemic.

To quote Amanda Bates, an ecologist, "The lockdown has given us the capacity to find where we can optimize conservation.“

A global analysis of the data gathered by closely examining behavioural change among species that could alter how the ecosystem functions will provide an informed community the way forward.

Artists, such as Raghu Akula, bring our attention to this ecosystem that is being threatened, modified and some on the verge of extinction.  

Through art, Raghu Akula’s engagement with the environment is visual and will hope to impact our minds

and our own connection to nature and beyond to bring about the much needed change necessary for the

well being of all species.
