Ronny Sen 

Ronny Sen (1986) was born in Silchar, Assam. He moved to Salt Lake City in Calcutta in the early 90's with his family where he still lives and works. He made his first artist book 'Khmer Din' in 2013 which was shown at the Photo Book Fest during the Paris Photo, Delhi Photo Festival and at the National Museum of Singapore in 2013. He has been awarded by the Sony World Photography Awards, National Geographic Magazine, United Nations, Powerhouse and the Forward Thinking Museum. He represented India at the World Young Artists Event in Nottingham in the year 2012. He won the Jenysys Creators and was invited on an artist residency programme in Japan by the Japan Foundation. He won the first red frames award in 2012 and was invited for a master class at the University of California in Berkeley. In 2014, he won the first prize in the general news category at the MFI awards. He photographed the Indian General elections in 2014 for the United Nations and Fabrica, Italy. He recently had his solo exhibition at Gallery Latitude 28 which was the outcome of his artist residency in Poland earlier in 2015. A sizable portion of his early photographic works were acquired for the permanent collection of Alkazi Collection of Photography. His recent exhibitions include India Art Fair in January, 2016 and he is working on his next book.
