D. Shashikant (b.1958)

 

Is an advertising Photographer involved in the field of photography for almost three decades.He has a BFA degree (Applied Arts) from Nagpur University, in 1982.  

 

In 1982, he joined RK Swamy Advertising Agency, Chennai as a professional photographer and worked with them for several years. In 1990, he started his own studio, Shashikant Advertising Photography and made remarkable contribution to the field of Advertising. Many of the agencies associated with him won awards for their projects.  His diverse skill and sensitivity as an artist add another dimension to his photographs.His port folio covers food, fashion, product, industrial and jewelry to name a few. In 2008, he started Shashikant School of Photography to share his experiences and knowledge to aspiring photographers. 

 

The artist has since then has been engaged in his photographic pursuits and has an exhaustive body of work covering indian architecture, festivals, culture and flora, fauna, rural & urban life style. The selected exhibitions he has participated in are Padme, Forum Art gallery Chennai 2015,  Floral Series Chennai 1997 and in Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai in 1998, ‘Madras Canvas” Forum Art Gallery, Chennai in 2008 & 2009.
