ANAND GADAPA  (b.1971)

Born in Gadapa, Mahbubnagar district of Telangana,  Anand Gadapa  completed his Master of Visual Arts (Art history & Aesthetics) in Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2006, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) in Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (J.N.T.U), Hyderabad in 2002 and UGC – NET (National Eligibility Test) in 2006

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Presently working as Assitant Professor (Art history) at JNAFAU, Hyderabad since 2014, he has worked as Art & Craft Teacher at Sarjak Hobby Centre for Adults, Vadodara  in 2010-2012, Visiting Faculty at C.N College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad in 2010, Temporary lecturer (Concept Art) at Tekhnix Institute for Film and Animation, Vadodara in 2009, as Art Curator at Sarjan Art Gallery, Vadodara  in 2008-2009, as Art Curator at Kaleidoscope Art Gallery, Vadodara in 2006-2007.

He has organized an international seminar ‘Rethinking Public Space’ on Relevance of Urban Art in Public in Hyderabad, in collaboration with Bordeaux (France) in 2015, curated and co-ordinated several Art Shows across the country and contributed with numerous catalogue essays and Talks on Contemporary Art in 2007-2012.

His published articles and reviews were  on ‘Public Sculpture In Baroda’, Kala Dirgha, vol 23 in 2005, Show review of ‘Installation as Representation’ by Anju Dodiya’s installations entitled ‘Throne of Frost’ mounted by Bodhi Art at the Durbar Hall of Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara, ‘Signals that you can’t miss’, by Baroda-based artist Nirmala Biluka’s  Solo Show at Gallery Studio Napean, Mumbai, ‘Metaphors for Living: Paintings and Sculptures’ by Piraji Sagara in 2007,  ‘Man of Vibrant colours’ an interview with artist Thota Vaikuntam for ‘Matters of Art’, e-magazine in  2006.

Participated in several workshops and Art camps held in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, and Daman.

HONOURS AND AWARDS:

He has received Malladi Scholarship, Vadodara for 2005-06, Telugu University Scholarship, Hyderabad for 2004-06 and Best Painting Award at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (J.N.T.U). Annual Exhibition in 2002.
